Buyers from all over the world make TEFAF 2011 a success

March 2011 - TEFAF Maastricht is widely acknowledged as the world's most influential art Fair. The Fair is regarded as a unique and essential opportunity to view some of the finest works of both fine and decorative arts available on the market and is therefore an important destination for both serious private collectors and museum buyers. This year TEFAF attracted 73,478 visitors from 55 countries. The Fair closed on Sunday 27th March. Next year TEFAF celebrates its 25th anniversary from 16-25 March 2012.

visitors This year TEFAF welcomed 73,478 visitors from 55 countries around the world. Ben Janssens, Chairman of TEFAF: "I am delighted to have seen an increase in visitors from mainland China and I find it particularly remarkable that they have made acquisitions in many different areas and not only Chinese art". During the course of TEFAF 154 private aircrafts landed at Maastricht-Aachen airport. The Fair attracted visitors from over 181 museums from 20 countries. Principal sponsor AXA Art brought more than 2,000 collectors to TEFAF this year.

Jubilee year in 2012

fair Next year TEFAF celebrates its 25th anniversary from 16-25 March 2012. The Mayor of Maastricht, Onno Hoes, said, "The City of Maastricht and TEFAF are inseparable and are of great mutual benefit. I very much look forward to celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Fair next year and the City looks forward to working with the Fair over the next quarter century".
